James Ratcliffe from Norwich got back £2,907 from St James’s Place

James first met with a St James’s Place adviser in 2017 to discuss his retirement planning arrangements. He was advised to transfer the Stakeholder Pension he had built up with Standard Life.
James saw our ad on Facebook and contacted us asking if we could assist him regarding the service and advice given by St James’s Place. We reviewed the advice he had been given and we believed he had been advised to take too much risk for an inexperienced investor.
We sent our claim to St James’s Place explaining why James should receive a refund. After investigating the case St James’s Place agreed with our findings and completed a comparison to evaluate if he had lost out by transferring his pension into the medium risk area. St James’s Place calculated he would have been better off not transferring his pension and refunded £2907 to him.
