This agreement establishes a contractual relationship between AMK Legal Ltd (Company No: 10449896), Mikar Business Park, Northolt Drive, Bolton, BL3 6NJ, and the individual(s) who sign this agreement. By signing, the client authorises the Firm to advise, investigate, and represent them in lodging a complaint against relevant third parties, including pursuing claims for Ongoing Advice Fees or Unsuitable Investment or Pension Advice.
The service provided by AMK Legal Ltd will be as follows:
- Obtain relevant information from you and/or your investment provider to investigate the merits of your claim
- Advise you about whether the claim has a prospect of success or not prior to presenting your claim
- Submit a claim on your behalf to your investment provider
- Liaise with your investment provider following the submission of the claim until the claim is concluded
- If the claim is rejected, we will discuss with you the possibility of escalating the claim to the Financial Ombudsman Service
- If the claim is defended or you wish to challenge a decision or any shortfall, we will discuss the possibility of pursuing legal action and any associated fees with you.
Client Obligations:
- To provide all information/paperwork that you have in your possession as required by AMK Legal Ltd to help with the claim
- To not enter into any agreements with your investment provider without consulting AMK Legal Ltd, though you may receive a call from them to confirm the details of your claim.
- To co-operate with AMK Legal Ltd to enable us to provide the claims management service to you
- To notify AMK Legal Ltd when an offer of compensation is made by your investment provider or when you receive compensation directly from them.
- To accept offers of compensation that AMK Legal Ltd advises are reasonable
- As a law firm, we must comply with legal and regulatory requirements to prevent crime. You agree to cooperate with us in verifying your identity (or that of those instructing us) and other relevant matters, including screening for financial sanctions. This may involve providing identification and documentation, and using online verification systems or other databases as required. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we fulfil our professional duties.
Cancellation
AMK Legal Ltd may terminate this agreement at any time, with no fee payable by you, if we determine there are no grounds for a claim or that your claim is unlikely to succeed. You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of signing, by phone, email, or in writing to AMK Legal Ltd, with no charge. If you cancel after 14 days and we have submitted your claim, and an offer of compensation is made, we will charge the full fee as outlined below, even if you do not wish to accept the offer. If you cancel after 14 days and we are unsuccessful in submitting your claim, no fee will be charged.
Law & Jurisdiction
The law applicable to this contract shall be English law and the parties’ consent to the jurisdiction of the English courts in all matters affecting this contract.
Making a claim yourself
You do not need to use AMK Legal Ltd to make this claim – you can do this yourself free of charge and if your claim is unsuccessful, you can pursue this with the Financial Ombudsman Service. In the event that your financial adviser is no longer in business you may be able to use the services of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
Payment of our fee
AMK Legal Ltd will endeavour to recover all monies in respect of your claim and undertake to forward any payment from your investment provider to you within seven days from the date received. We require that you promptly pay our fee no later than 7 days after you receive your compensation (if you are paid direct) or if you have no intention of accepting the offer and we recommend that you do so, 7 days after our recommendation. The fees we charge are set under rules laid down by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Our fee structure is as follows:

Please note the above fee illustration is not to be taken as an estimate of the amounts we are likely to recover.
Complaints may be made in writing, by e-mail, by telephone or in any other form in respect of a claims management service that we have provided. For further details about your right to complain, please see the ‘How to Complain About Our Service’ section of the Client Care Document above.
