AMK Legal originally helped Mark get a refund of the fees he had paid to St James’s Place in early 2023. After analysing the response from them we found that Mark had been advised to transfer a pension from Legal & General to St James’s Place in 2016. It is often the case that there are significant charges made when transferring a pension and clients can lose money as a consequence of this.

We sent our claim to St James’s Place asking them to compare the value of his St James’s Place Retirement Account to the value he would have with Legal & General if the transfer had not taken place.

After investigating the case St James’s Place agreed with our findings and refunded the losses Mark had suffered by transferring his pension. The total payment Mark received was £23,631.
